Totnes Unleashed
CRAFTING A FESTIVAL IDENTITY AS BOLD AND ECLECTIC AS THE TOWN IT CALLS HOME
In the heart of Devon, nestled amidst rolling hills, meandering moorland, and breathtaking coastline, Totnes stands as a beacon of vibrant eccentricity, a town that defies expectations. Beyond its quaint exterior lies a tapestry of diversity—artists, farmers, programmers, writers, and eco-warriors coexist in harmony, giving Totnes its distinct, rebellious charm. Atop the town, a Norman castle oversees the lively blend of free-thinkers, and the locals proudly embrace their nickname, twinning with an imaginary land of whimsy and wonder.
Totnes refuses to be confined by convention. It boldly crafted its own currency, challenging norms and resisting categorisation—a round peg in a square hole, a town fiercely passionate about its coffee choices. This is Totnes, a punk of a town, radiating with vital energy and modern-day rebellion against the ordinary.
Our journey to define Totnes Festival’s identity was a visual celebration of this vibrant spirit. Responding to the brief for an eye-catching, locally rooted, and community-embraced festival identity, we ventured into visually rich, exciting realms, presenting options that spoke uniquely to Totnes. The chosen identity is not just a logo; it’s a visual anthem that captures the town’s essence—friendly, instantly recognisable, and seamlessly adaptable for a spectacular rollout across publicity materials and merchandise. Totnes Festival’s new identity is a testament to the town’s unapologetic individuality and our commitment to crafting a celebration as exceptional as the place it calls home.

“Working with Jonathan was nothing short of a creative revelation for Totnes Festival. His ability to distill the essence of our eclectic town into a visually stunning and instantly recognisable festival identity surpassed our expectations. The collaborative process was a seamless journey of ideation and innovation, and the final product is a testament to Jonathan’s exceptional talent and dedication. Our festival now proudly wears an identity as vibrant, diverse, and rebellious as Totnes itself.”
